The President of the Republic of Botswana, Mokgweetsi Masisi, will on Thursday pay an official visit to Angola, as part of a tour of the countries of the SADC region.

According to locl media, Mokgweetsi Masisi will be received at Luanda’s Presidential Palace by the Angolan Head of State, Joao Lourenco.

President Masisi’s delegation is integrated by the Botswana’s Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Vincent Seretse, Transport and Communications, Onkokame Mokaila, Mineral Resources, Green Technologies and Energy Security, Mothibi Molale
Mokgweetsi Masisi has been serving as President of the Republic of Botswana since April 1, replacing the former Head of State, Seretse Khama Ian Khama, who has resigned, and is due to lead the country until the general elections of April 2019.

The new 55-year-old Botswana’s Head of State acted as Vice-President of the Republic and enjoys the people’s sympathy. In his public interventions, he has called for unity, understanding and solidarity for greater cohesion and firmness within the population, promising to work in order to guarantee and fulfill electoral obligations and promises.
