Among the beneficiary communities include Katiou , Gwenia, Begwebia , Namolo, Kusingu, Jarania, Yagnia, Gana, Pinda, Paga Zanga , Paga Badunu, Kongo all in the in the Kassena-Nankana West District and Kassena-Nankana Municipality.

Others include Kongo in the Nabdam District, Sakom and Timonde in the Bawku West District and Kalibisa -Yipaala, Kanaasa-Kori and Wiaga, in the Builsa South District

Inaugurating a borehole at Katiou, the Chairman of the Foundation, Reverend Fausteil Asogba Cofie explained that the Royal Bank Foundation is the Corporate Social Responsibility wing of the Royal Bank and also the Global Haulage Group Limited .

He said over the years, the foundation had contributed significantly in supporting areas including the provision of potable water to deprived communities in the country and also the health, education, culture and sports sectors.

“The Corporate Social Responsibility of the foundation, which is in tandem with the founder of the bank vision, Dr Amadu Idrisu, is to support the vulnerable,” he said.

He said the foundation had made it a policy to provide 60 boreholes each in selected deprived communities across the country.

Rev Cofie the foundation had lived up to the policy directive.

The Board Chairman of the Bank, Dr Kofi Koduah said plans are underway to establish the bank’s branch in the Northern and Upper East Regions to provide financial services to the people.

Mr George Nonterah, Kassena-Nankana, lauded the effort of the foundation for complementing the efforts of the Assembly.

He appealed to other corporate bodies and non-governmental organisations to team up with the Assembly in the region to help communities that lack potable drinking water.

The women groups, who composed songs, indicating that they would no longer drink from streams and water sources, also praised the founder of the bank and the entire staff of the Royal Bank.
