Bon Naba Baba Salifu Aleemyarum, Paramount Chief of the Bongo Traditional Area, has appealed to the Government, to as a matter of urgency, provide the area with a district hospital, to cater for the health needs of the people.Bon Naba Baba Salifu Aleemyarum

Currently the area has only a health post serving the large population, leading to the admission of adults and children patients in the same ward.

?While commending the government for working on the Bongo road leading to Bolgatanga, the capital towns, and the Bongo township road, I am making a humble appeal to the Government and the Ghana Health Service, to come to our aid with a District Hospital?

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Bongo, the Paramount Chief stated that through his able leadership, the Traditional Council has secured about a 20-acre land at Gorogu, for the purpose of the District Hospital.

He stressed that the provision of the facility would help address the health needs of the many communities in the area, instead of the people travelling far away to access healthcare in Bolgatanga, the regional capital.

Naba Aleemyarum indicated that the completion of the Bongo-Bolgatanga road, would help boost up trade between Ghana and Burkina Faso, since it is the shortest road leading to Burkina Faso.

He also called on government and the road sector to open up the Namoo boarder, which is closer to Burkina Faso and other neighboring countries than the Paga Boarder, so as to help de-congest the Paga border.

The Paramount Chiefs impressed upon government to consider the District in its plans to establish Training Colleges to help absorb students from the seven Senior High Schools in the area, so as to help address the fallen standards of education.
