Rayon coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira

The highlight of this year’s Peace Cup quarter-finals is a clash between eight-time winners Rayon Sport and Kiyovu.

The two rivals were drawn together in yesterday’s draw which also saw Police drawn against Marines, Mukura against AS Kigali and defending champions APR against SEC Academy.

Reacting to the draw, Rayon coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira said, “This is as big as it gets. Both teams are hungry for success so I think football fans should brace themselves for a very intriguing match.”

For Kiyovu coach Jean Baptista Kayiranga, the match will help him fine-tune his side ahead of the Orange Confederation Cup first leg clash against Simba on February 17.

The blues reached the last eight after thrashing La Jeunesse 5-2. Cedric Amissi, Jerome Sina and Pappy Kamanzi were on target for Rayon who last won the title in 2005 under the tutelage of Raoul Shungu.

In other round of 16 results, APR thrashed second division side Bugesera 9-0.
