Despite what was rather termed as a disappointing performance by the Black Stars when they played Botswana in their Group D opener on Tuesday many Ghanaians are hopeful that this evening, the Black Stars will beat the Malians to pick the three points.
When Ghananewslink.com Sports caught up with some football fans, they could not help but make their predictions of the Black Stars’ victory. “It is not going to come easy against Seidu Keita and his team but we will still be the champions at the end of the match,” a football enthusiast predicted.
Another also said “… it is going to be a tough match but we will win by 2 to nil.” A group of Senior High School Students expressed their satisfaction about the previous match against Botswana saying “ Botswana played well but we played better that is why we won at the end”.
They said “Asamoah Gyan will score one goal and Dede Ayew will score the final one to seal our victory.”
Majority of the predictors expect the Ghana Black Stars to will win by 2 goals to nil.
The Black Stars coach Goran Stevanovic has in his early assertion said that he would make changes in his team for that pursuit of victory in the match against Mali.
Attacker Sulley Muntari has also admitted that their upcoming match against Mali will not be an easy one but says “the Black Stars are determined to win against Mali”.
“We would try our best to win the game, that the most important thing. We would be as a group as always and play the game. It’s going to be very difficult but we would try our best.”
“The Botswana game is over, now we are thinking of Mali. That’s the most important thing ahead of us now.”
Muntari says in such a competition, playing style counts for nothing if a team fails to get a result.
“We are done with Botswana, either we played good or bad we got the three points. We heading to play Mali and that’s what we want to win.”
