The controversy surrounding the winning bonuses of the Black Stars has ended with a 50% slash in their bonuses ahead of their last group D game against Egypt.

Mr. Isaac Asiamah, Minister of Youth and Sports designate, who reveled this at a press conference in Port Gentil, said the Black Stars will now receive $5,000.00 instead of $10,000.00 from the group stages to quarter finals.

However, they will be entitled to $15,000.00, should they qualify for the group stages as qualification bonus, no matter the outcome of their game against Egypt on Wednesday.

According to the minister, the players who were entitled to $12,000.00 dollars at semi-finals, but will now take home $6,000.00.

He added that, the agreed bonus of $15,000.00 has now been reduced to $7,500.00 whilst a third place match will also attract $6,000.00.

The minister said, the decision was taken in consultation with the players, other stake holders, as well as the feelings of Ghanaians.

According to the Minister designate, he has had meeting with the players and they all agreed to the new bonus structure and were ready to play their hearts out and win for Ghana.

The minister designate told the media that, the announcement brings to an end the long standing dispute over the bonus structure of the team.

Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi president of the GFA told the media that, the news was a welcoming one and will bring an end to the controversy.

He said it was not a one sided decision but in consultations and the GFA is happy with the new developments.
