Supporters? club urges Black Stars to qualify for Brazil 2014

The President of Ghana?s Football Supporters? Union, Abraham  Boakye has called on the Black Stars to make its fans happy by qualifying for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Boakye told newsmen in Accra on Sunday that it would be a thing of joy for Ghanaian soccer fans to see the team play at the world cup.

He said the supporters club was praying seriously for the team to make it to the finals event of the world soccer fiesta.

According to him, it is the prayer of the fans that the team will record a sound victory after its encounter with Sudan.

“We are all praying that the team qualifies; the Black Stars remains a formidable team in Africa and should not be out of the world tournament.

“I am sure that Africans and indeed soccer fans around the world are looking up to seeing Ghana play in Brazil, ?? he said.

Meanwhile the venue of the qualifier with Sudan on June 7 initially slated to hold at the Khartoum Stadium, has been moved to the Al Merreikh stadium in Omdurman.

Nineteen players departed Accra on Thursday afternoon with head coach Kwesi Appiah after three days of training in Accra.

The Black Stars would be playing at the world cup for the third time if it qualifies for Brazil 2014, having played in the tournament in 2006 and 2010 respectively.
