Solomon Asante has called to replace Albert Adomah in Ghana’s squad for World Cup qualifiers

Berekum Chelsea midfielder Solomon Asante has been handed a late call to the Ghana squad for next month’s 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zambia.

The two-time Burkina Faso Premier League top scorer replaces Bristol City winger Albert Adomah who is unable to join the team after picking up a knee injury.

The former Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord Academy graduate has international exposure after featuring for Burkina Faso in a friendly against South Africa in August last year.

Asante’s last season for ASFA Yennega saw him score 14 goals to win the top scorer award before joining Chelsea this term.

He has played a key role in Berekum Chelsea qualification to the money zone of the CAF Champions League.
