Berekum Arsenals prepare to face RTU on Sunday

Berekum Arsenals Prepare For Rtu Clash Despite Issuing Withdrawal Threat

Berekum Arsenals are still in preparations towards their weekend?s game against Real Tamale United despite announcing their decision to quit the Ghanaian top flight.

Players of the Gunners have been in training all-week-long despite the club President?s confirmation of a pull-out from the Premier League.

Arsenals believe they have been meted a raw deal by the Ghana FA following recent sanctions for their supporters? misconduct.

They were first slapped with a hefty fine for crowd trouble in their first round draw against Hearts of Oak.

They have again, quite recently had their Golden City Park grounds banned from holding Premier League matches following violent attacks on a the visiting Asante Kotoko team, officials and supporters last weekend.

These sanctions have infuriated club President Yakubu Moro who declared the team will be withdrawing from the top flight.

There are however ample proof the pull-out threat will not be carried out.

?The team is still training because there are ongoing discussions for us to rescind the decision to pull out,? Arsenals? deputy general secretary Salifu told Asempa FM.

?The decision to withdraw from the league still stands but there is also a possibility this decision will be reversed that is why we are still preparing to face RTU nevertheless.?

Arsenals are deeply rooted in the relegation zone but hold a slim chance of survival with just four games remaining.
