Peter Okwoche, BBC Focus on Africa’s sports presenter, will host a live show on BBC World News, unveiling the five shortlisted nominees for the BBC African Footballer of the Year award.

Okwoche will be joined by a panel of football experts, including Delron Buckley, who has played in two FIFA World Cups for South Africa; Bradley Carnell, former South African international and leading football analyst; and Carol Tshabalala, SuperSport presenter.

Meanwhile on radio, Sportshour presenter Caroline Barker will be joined by the BBC’s Nomsa Maseko from Johannesburg for a special edition of the programme at the same venue to celebrate the best in African football. They will also hear from some of the guest panellists as the five shortlisted players are revealed.

The live launch programmes will look back at the history of BBC African Footballer of the Year and feature a special report on the global impact African footballers are having on some of the world’s leading football leagues and clubs. The guest panellists will discuss each nominee’s potential for winning this year’s award before declaring voting open for BBC African Footballer of the Year 2015.

Football fans will be able to watch the nominees announced live on BBC World News from 1010 GMT on Saturday 14th November or tune in to BBC World Service radio from 1006 GMT to hear who is on this year’s shortlist.
