Bayern Munich set up a Champions League final against Chelsea in their home town on May 19 after a penalty shootout win over Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

Madrid trailed 2-1 after the first leg last week in Bavaria but Cristiano Ronaldo struck twice in the first 14 minutes to put Jose Mourinho’s side ahead on aggregate.

The former Manchester United forward slotted home from the penalty spot after six minutes before again beating Manuel Neuer with ease just eight minutes later.

Former Chelsea and Madrid winger Arjen Robben then leveled the scores with a penalty of his own after 27 minutes.

Both teams appeared to settle for extra time from early on in the second half as few chances were created.

And it was left to Bastian Schweinsteiger to stroke home the winning penalty in the shootout after misses from Ronaldo, Kaka and Sergio Ramos.
