A member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Kobina Arthur Kennedy, has challenged the 2012 vice presidential candidate of the party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to come clean on alleged plans by some leading members of the party to make him the 2016 flagbearer of the NPP.

According to some party supporters, Dr. Bawumia, considering his performance in the election petition case, is now seasoned enough to lead the party.

However, Dr. Arthur Kennedy says the move to make Dr. Bawumia the next flagbearer contradicts the party?s call for all supporters to have faith in the election petition case.

?I never said the party should not pick Dr. Bawumia. I am not in the habit of doing that. I am respecting our case in the Supreme Court, and I think until the case is over, nobody should talk about 2016. The former NPP presidential aspirant said persons in the party who are rooting for Dr. Bawumia to be made the next flagbearer of the party should desist from such acts in respect for their 2012 Presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo.”

?Those people who are aiming at this in 2016 and have hired campaign strategists and have offices must cease from this, out of respect for Nana Akufo-Addo? warned Dr. Arthur Kennedy.

According to him, such persons engaging in this quest ?are the same people who are saying that we are looking to the Supreme Court so when they do that, they give us the impression that they don’t have faith in our case.?
