Vilarrubi, Barcelona vice

The Blaugrana director refuses to point his finger at others as he believes the club?s problems are an internal issue more than anything else

Barcelona vice-president Carles Vilarrubi has insisted that the Catalans are not the victim of a conspiracy, but feels the club are being attacked from within their own ranks.

The Camp Nou side have been involved in a number of controversies in the past 12 months, with star player Lionel Messi facing trial over a tax evasion case, the club being handed a transfer ban for irregularities over the international transfers of minors, while ex-president Sandro Rosell and current chief Josep Bartomeu face fraud charges following the signing of Neymar from Santos.

Nevertheless, Vilarrubi refuses to buy into the suggestions that Barcelona are deliberately being targeted by their opponents, stressing instead that their problems stem from within.

?I don?t believe in conspiracies,? Vilarrubi told Primer Toc.

?What there is, is an open bar against Barcelona. The person who started this process is from Catalunya. The problem is inside the club.

?Our enemies aren?t elsewhere, they?re right here.

?We?ve had a busy mandate, it hasn?t been calm. We?ve been through extraordinary surprises and moments that will be kept in the history of the club.?

The Blaugrana director then went on to admit that they could have done things differently when they brought in Neymar, but remained adamant that the club did not do anything wrong.

?The signing of Neymar could have been done in a different way, but the club have not misappropriated anything.?
