Alhaji Umar Abdul Kadir, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Chief Imam, has commended the Government, under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for facilitating the smooth departure of Hajj pilgrims to Mecca this year.

He said the President and his Vice, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, through the Hajj Board, had done well for the massive improvement at the Hajj Village that prevented the inconveniences that pilgrims usually went through.

Alhaji Kadir said this when he addressed Muslims after leading the prayers to mark the Eid-ul-Adha Festival on Friday at the Coronation Park in Sunyani.

He assured the Government of their continuous prayer to enable it to fulfill its promises to Ghanaians.

Mr Evans Opoku Bobie, the Deputy Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, said the Government would address socio-economic challenges in the Zongo communities through the Inner City and Zongo Development Ministry.

Mr. Bobie, also a Member of Parliament for Asunafo North, donated a cow, 20 bags of rice, cooking oil and an undisclosed amount of money to the Regional Chief Imam and his Council of Elders towards the cerebration.

Nana Takyi Abeam, the Dwantoahene of the Sunyani Traditional Area, praised the Assembly and Mrs. Evelyn Ama Kumi Richardson, the Municipal Chief Executive for the decongestion exercise in the town to ensure free movement.
