NEW DELHI — Nearly 100 children fell ill on Saturday after consuming sweets distributed by a village head in the eastern Indian state of Bihar’s Darbhanga district to celebrate Independence Day, said local media.

ANKARA — Three soldiers of the Turkish security forces were killed and six others wounded in a bombing explosion in Bingol province in eastern Turkey on Saturday, local Hurriyet newspaper reported.
The bomb was planted by the militants of the outlawed Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK) and was detonated as an armored vehicle carrying the soldiers passed by Hacilar Mevkii region, according to the report.(Turkey-Attack)

MOSCOW — Russian aviation authority Rosaviatsiya said five people were killed and 11 survived in a Mi-8 helicopter crash in Russia’s Khabarovsk region, the TASS news agency reported Saturday.
