Nana Kwabena Amoako, a philanthropist and a businessman, has launched a campaign to reach-out to every student in the Assin South District with at least one exercise book and a reading book.

The effort aims at supplying thousands of exercise books, supplementary reading books and other teaching and learning materials to students to enable them focus on their studies to achieve academic excellence.

It will also complement Government’s resolve to make education accessible and affordable to all Ghanaians to create the needed manpower of the country to support economic growth.

Speaking at the launch of the programme dubbed: ” Hold a Hand, One Child, One Exercise Book” , the Philanthropist, donated over 2, 000 exercise books and quantities of supplementary reading and other educational materials to five schools in the district.

The beneficiary schools were Assin Achiase Catholic Primary School, Asamankese T.I Alhamadiyya Basic School, Homaho-Nkwanta Basic School, Kyinaso Basic School and Asamankese Junior High School.

Nana Amoako said the campaign formed part of his broader vision to support brilliant but needy students, the underprivileged, vulnerable groups and schools to help uplift education and unearth the talents of children in the area.

He urged the students to attend to their lessons and remain resolute in their quest to achieve their ambitions in life.

Mr Amoako rallied the support of all especially corporate bodies and institutions operating in the area to commit their resources into supporting education as part of the Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR).

He also called on parents to pay attention to the needs of their children and wards by investing their resources in education.

Mr Stephen Addae, a teacher, who received the items, thanked the philanthropist for his kindness and called for the support of all.
