Ashantigold are unhappy with the choice of the Essipong stadium

Ashantigold Protests Against Essipong Venue For Kotoko Clash

Ashantigold have threatened to boycott their Premier League game against Kotoko if the Essipong venue is not changed.

The miners are unhappy with the choice of the Essipong stadium for the penultimate qualifier claiming the long distance will rather serve as punishment to them when it should be the other way round.

Kotoko?shome ground has been temporarily shut down by the Ghana Fa after crowd violence marred their Premier League game against Medeama.

They honoured their last home game at the Sunyani Coronation Park, but the decision to choose the Essipong as the match venue for the crucial tie has not gone down well with the Obuasi-based side.

GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm officials have sent a strong signal to the country?s Premier League Board that they will NOT honour the match if the venue is not changed.

They feel traveling many miles from the Ashanti to the Western Region is unfair and intended to punish them for doing no wrong.
