Northern Youths dare Asari Dokubo

National President of Northern Youth Assembly, Mallam Ibrahim Waiya, has described the outburst of Asari Dokubo over President Goodluck’s second term bid as an empty threat.

Responding to questions shortly after a press briefing on arrangements for the forthcoming one day National Youths Conference in Minna the Niger State capital on Friday Waiya said, ?Dokubo is a nonentity who has no bearing?.

He said ?as a certified militant, if he feels he is a hero in Niger Delta, Nigeria is too large for him, his fathers, his leaders and his godfathers cannot achieve their selfish interest, anyway let the time come?.

According to him, ?we at the Northern Youth Assembly vehemently opposed to President Goodluck second term bid because he has openly demonstrated his incapacity to rule Nigeria, stressing that, ?we feel he cannot be a good driver?.

It could be recalled that Dokubo had at a news conference in Abuja said that Nigeria will be in crisis if President Goodluck Jonathan is not elected as President for a second term in office.

Dokubo went on to say that ?the day Goodluck is no longer the President, all of us who are on vacation will come back. There will be no peace, not only in the Niger Delta but everywhere, if they say it is an empty boast let them wait and see?.

On zoning, he said, we agitated for the zoning so as to give every part of this country a sense of belonging but PDP has killed it, adding that, ?the issue of zoning is history?.

Waiya applauded the emergency rule declared in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states because the intent is to restore peace and normalcy in north but the control of resources by Federal Government is unacceptable.

Asked on his impression of the election of Nigerian Governor?s Forum, he said Governor Jang is the cause of all the problems in the North, who has no bearing and is been paraded as the Chairman of NGF against the declared winner is just a drama.

He stated that ?Nigerians especially the youths are conscience people and that is why we are agitating that elders should move aside and give youth the chance. The governors and PDP should stop this drama immediately?.

On the forthcoming one day National Youths Conference scheduled to hold in Sokoto, he said, it is aimed to provide a platform of all issues affecting the North especially youth as well as to create more understanding and unity among the youth of the region.

He then called on the youths in the region to make sacrifice of their time and energy to attend the workshop as the group is presently handicap without any sponsor.

Meanwhile, 20 youth groups from each state of the North is to be drawn as participants at the conference while Governor Ibrahim Dankwanbo of Gombe State, Mr. Sam Nda Isiah and Abubakar Malami SAN are expected to present papers at the conference.
