Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II

KUMASI ASANTE Kotoko have officially invited Dr Congo giants, TP Mazembe, for an international friendly this year.

To take place at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi, the game would be played in honour of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, owner of Kotoko.

The contest would be played to mark the Asantehene?s 15 years anniversary on the Golden Stool.

A source at Kotoko hinted that the Porcupine Warriors had also written to some clubs on the continent.

He said they were awaiting a feedback from the clubs they had written to including TP Mazembe, adding that the response would determine which opponent they would face to honour Otumfuo.

The source said a mouthwatering prize would be given to the team that would eventually face Kotoko.

Several key activities have been lined up by the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi to mark Otumfuo?s 15 years anniversary.

An international friendly game between Kotoko and a team, yet to be named, is among the programmes lined up.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II ascended the Golden Stool in 1999 after the demise of Otumfuo Opoku Ware II.
