Asamoah Gyan picked up the injury an hour to the game

Al Ain coach Zlatko Dalic has confirmed losing Asamoah Gyan to injury just an hour to his side?s Asian Champions League match against Pakhtakor on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old was declared fully fit to start for the Boss in their home clash against the Uzbekistani club.

Gyan was however shockingly excluded from the squad that eventually drew 1-1 on Tuesday night.

Zlatko Dalic has come under immense criticisms for leaving out Gyan from the game in a moved initially believed to be tactical.

But the Croatian trainer revealed in his post-match comments that he had to leave out the prolific scorer an hour to the game due to an unspecified injury.

?You should know that the team lacked an hour before the start of the game Asamoah Gyan?s efforts and this thing is not?easy,? he said.

The latest injury setback for the Black Stars captain is however considered not to be serious.

He is believed to have been excluded from Tuesday?s game as a precautionary measure and is likely to feature in the side?s next match.

Al Ain who were already without the influential Miroslav Stoch through suspension thus had to play the game without their lead striker.

Gyan has this term suffered series of injuries to slow him down on his phenomenal goalscoring return since joining Al Ain in 2011.

The Black Stars captain has however been the impact player of the side in key games this season.
