You promised Ghanaians that you would repeal the Act permitting mining in forest reserves should you assume power and form a government.
Now that you have won power and have the entire security architecture at your disposal, you are constantly lamenting whenever the issue of galamsey resurfaces.
You granted an interview and openly declared to the world that the only way to clamp down on galamsey was through the declaration of a state of emergency.
Ironically, you have now been handed the very sector for which you once advocated emergency measures, yet your only approach as sector minister has been to appeal to the emotions of Ghanaians for sympathy.
Your lackadaisical attitude towards the fight against galamsey has laid bare how weak and inept your leadership has been since your appointment. Your continuous lamentations suggest you never had any real solution to tackle galamsey in the first place.
Mr Minister, do the honourable thing, resign. Spare the state further waste of its resources. You cannot continue to parade yourself as a minister while yielding no tangible results.
