Unnamed
Apga In Battle With Imo State Governor

Six out of the fifteen members of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in the Imo State House of Assembly have drawn a battle line with the governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, over the governor?s intention to expose the shoddy deal he had with the members last year.

unnamed (11)According to reliable the governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha with the help of the speaker Imo House Rt. Hon. Benjamin Uwajumogu lured APGA law makers to secretly sign their resignation letters fro the party and to follow the governor to any party he decamped. Frontline Express gathered that they were promised to be carried along in the scheme of things by Gov. Okorocha that pushed them into signing.

But on hearing that the speaker and the governor have slated date to make the secret resignation public even as the party had threatened to declare the seats of its lawmakers vacant should they fail to reinstate their loyalty to the party coupled with the feeling that the governor has disappointed them by not fulfilling his own side of the bargain six out of the fourteen lawmakers comprising Hon. Daniel Ikpeazu from Owerri North, Eudora Igwe of Ideato north, Hon. Ndunagu from Mbaitolu, victor Mere from Owerri municipal, Chino Obioha from Njaba and Innocent Ekeh of Owerri West rushed to an Owerri High Court asking it to nullify the resignation claiming it was done on duress.

The six lawmakers who are claiming they were compelled to put hand on paper thereby denying of not being members of APGA, the party that brought them into power want to notify Imo people that they are still members of APGA and not All Progressives Congress (APC) as the governor was forcing them to belong. And they have as matter of fact dragged the governor to court as to authenticate their stand of not wanting to cross carpet to APC.

Their decision was in view of the fact that governor Okorocha is not a person to rely on, especially on issues regarded to political matters. Secondly, the six honourable members have been severely threatened by APGA chieftains who maintained that they must face severe punishment if they dare shift ground from APGA. However, the governor?s decisions to read out and expose the resignation and party denial through the speaker, when the house resumes on?29th Jan.?may not hold as the court are yet to decide on the matter. Meanwhile, story has it that the Gov. of Imo state, His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha is said to be begging the aggrieved house members to withdraw the matter from court.
