Gov. Umaru Al-Makura of Nasarawa State on Friday assured members of ?the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state of the party?s resolve to entrench internal democracy.

Gov Al-makura gave the assurance at the formal inauguration of the newly-elected officials of the party in Lafia.

He said the party had adopted measures toward addressing all grievances arising from the ward and local government party congresses.

According to the governor, all issues arising from the conduct of the congresses will be resolved amicably to the satisfaction of all.

The governor said that the principles and ideals of the party were hinged on upholding the tenets of democracy.

Al-Makura, however, applauded party members for creating an enabling environment for the emergence of democratically-elected members of the party?s executives.

He described the processes which led to the emergence of the new officials as peaceful and democratic, saying that the processes had completed the full democratisation of the party.

“I am happy the APC now has full party structure in the state?.

The governor urged party officials to take the party to greater heights in order to win all future elections in the state.

Al-Makura lauded the party supporters for the peaceful conduct of the elections and urged them to maintain the tempo for the progress of the party and the development of the country.

In his post-inaugural speech, Mr Philip Shekwo, ?an official, thanked members of the party for the confidence reposed in them.

Shekwo promised to initiate good policies and programmes that would take the party to greater height.

He urged the people of the state to support the current ?administration in the drive to transform the state.

Earlier, the Immediate Past Secretary of the Interim Management Committee of the party, Mr Mustapha Galadima, thanked Al-Makura and other members of the party for giving them the chance to serve the party.

He said the inauguration of the executive members of the party was in compliance with Articles 28 and 29 of the APC Constitution.
