Carry out routine sweep of the building

The Police Anti Bomb Squad was, on Tuesday morning, called in to the Silverbird Galleria for a comprehensive sweep of the building.

The Silverbird chief security officer said that there was no cause for alarm, adding “we have to take precautionary measures. We do monthly sweeps of the building.”

Speaking about the ongoing search at the gates and main entrance of the galleria, he said that “it was security strategy carried out by every organisation and Silverbird is no exception”.

He added that “we have security on ground 24 hours helping us with security, so it is not because of any threat”.

He stressed that no bomb threat was received by Silverbird Galleria and the Police Anti Bomb Squad was only called in for a routine sweep of the building.
