Islamic insurgents, Boko Haram have laid siege on another village in Borno state, just less than 24 hours after President Goodluck Jonathan paid a surprise visit to the troubled northern state.


A report on SaharaReporters disclosed that the insurgents killed several villagers and burnt down many homes as well as shops.

The raid was initially counterattacked by vigilantes better known as ?Civilian Joint Task Force? affected Kayamula, a village some 15km to the Giwa Barracks in Maiduguri.

Kayamula is in Konduga local government area of the state.

Some locals who escaped the scene of the attack, said they got advance warning that Boko Haram terrorists were lead to the village and passed the information to the army but nothing was done to protect the village.

President Jonathan on Thursday, 15 January arrived Maiduguri in an unscheduled visit to the hotbed of Boko Haram?s terrorism which has claimed thousands of lives.

Jonathan, while visiting IDP camp in Maiduguri, said that he felt pained as a President when heard that some Nigerians have fled to Chad and Cameroon Republic as IDPs following the recent incessant attacks.
