The police and security guards were patrolling a street late in the morning at Cacuaco where they found four suspects on a three-wheeler with rifles and nervous expression on their faces.

They opened and exchanged fire with the suspects, shooting dead two on the spot and captured the other two who were injured by police gunfire.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects had just run away from a nearby scene where they looted 3,000 U.S. dollars in cash from two Chinese business men in a car.

The police patrollers were part of a police-civilian union at Cacuaco established early this year by local police and security guards working for Chinese companies to beef up security amid rising crime rates at the region. Enditem
