Angola reaffirmed on Thursday in Addis Ababa its commitment to achieve the objectives of the African Union (AU) and will never “be a blocking force” for the ongoing reforms in the continental organization, which is discussing in Ethiopia the burning issues of Africa, such as corruption and emigration.

The Angolan Foreign Affairs Minister, Manuel Augusto, made the remarks in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s capital, stressing that the country is at the forefront of this full engagement with the AU and its objectives.

The official, who arrived in Addis Ababa Thursday to attend the 30th Ordinary Session of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, said that in this common strategy Angola is ready to play its part.

In this regard, Augusto hopes that the A.U. Summit will be productive and decisions and a concrete program of action will emerge so that the first practical results of the ongoing reform in the organization may be analyzed in the next summit meeting. Enditem
