Anambra QuadrupletsThe First Lady of Anambra State Chief (Mrs) Ebele Obiano has called on pregnant and expectant mothers in Anambra to take advantage of the free delivery assistance programme approved by her husband, Governor Willie Obiano in state government hospitals to avoid the payment of hospital bills after delivery. Chief (Mrs) Obiano made the plea today at Ngozika Estate, Awka when she visited the family of Mr.??& Mrs. Princewill Oluchi, the parents of the quadruplets delivered recently.

The First Lady said that her joy new no bounds when she was informed of the arrival of the babies in a private hospital in Enugu, hence she tried to see them immediately but was prevailed on to await their return to their home in Awka. Thanking God for the safe delivery of the babies Chief Obiano said; ?In this era of high infant mortality rate we are grateful to God that the children were born safely and in good health. I therefore call on all pregnant mothers in Anambra, to start taking advantage of the free delivery approved by His Excellency the Governor of Anambra State for pregnant women at no cost.?

Mrs Obiano said that she considers the welfare of women and children as very important for the wellbeing of the family and advised the parents of the quadruplets to concentrate on making sure that they grow healthy and strong. She later made a presentation of assorted baby products and food items for the nurturing of the babies and upkeep of the mother. Some of the items include; clothings, water purifier, beverages, diapers, soap, oil etc.

Father of the babies, Mr. Princewill Oluchi expressed the appreciation of the family for the kind gesture of the First Lady, describing her as God sent to the family in this time of joy. He also praised God for the bountiful blessings that He bestowed on them.

Earlier the First Lady stopped-over at the Ministry of Women Affairs Awka on familiarization, and urged the management and staff to always give the best service at work to justify the confidence of the government in their abilities.
