Algiers prepares to welcome over 35,000 global attendees to the fourth Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF2025) this September.

The Palais des Expositions will house Africa’s largest trade and investment gathering from September 4–10, organized by Afreximbank alongside the African Union Commission and AfCFTA Secretariat. Projections indicate deals exceeding $44 billion across ICT, energy, and creative industries.

This year’s theme, “Gateway to New Opportunities,” leverages the African Continental Free Trade Area’s single market of 1.4 billion people. Official records confirm participation from 140+ countries and 2,000+ exhibitors. The fair enables businesses to expand market reach and forge cross-border partnerships.

Core events include a four-day Trade and Investment Forum with continental leaders and the Africa Automotive Show. The Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX) summit will spotlight fashion, film, and gastronomy, while Global Africa Day focuses on diaspora commercial ties. Dedicated country showcases highlight tourism and sector-specific investments.

New features like the AU Youth Start-Up program and Africa Research and Innovation Hub aim to elevate emerging entrepreneurs. Sub-national collaboration advances through the African Sub-Sovereign Governments Network. A year-round virtual platform remains active for continuous deal-making.

Historical context traces the event’s significance to 1963, when OAU founding members endorsed trade fairs as drivers of continental integration. Algeria’s hosting marks the first IATF edition in North Africa.
