Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, president of Ghana, on Sunday had a close door meeting with Nigeria Ag President Professor Yemi Osinbajo on what is believed to be a private visit by the Ghanaian president to Nigeria ahead of the AU Summit (June 27 – July 4).  The meeting was held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja and is the second since President Akufo Addo was elected as president of Ghana.

He was accompanied by Ghanaian ministers, including his Executive Secretary Nana Asante Bediatuo, National Security Minister, Albert Kan-Dapaah and Foreign Affairs Minister Shirley Ayorkor Botchway.

Details of the meeting not yet made open to the public, reports suggest it was to strengthen bilateral ties Ghana and Nigeria hold.

Prof. Osinbajo has been acting president of Nigeria since substantive President Muhammadu Buhari took ill. Buhari left Abuja for London on May 7, to see his doctors for follow-up medical checks.There however hasnt been any specific date announced by officials when the president is expected back into Nigeria.
