The Akontombra District Assembly has endorsed Mr Peter Nkuah?s as District Chief Executive for the area.

He polled 14 votes out of the 21 cast, to cross the mandatory two-thirds majority votes? threshold he required to be deemed approved.

Mr Akwasi Oppong-Fosu, Local Government and Rural Development Minister, who was on hand to observe the election supervised by the Electoral Commission, praised the members for the maturity.

He urged teamwork, self-sacrifice and understanding to enhance the performance of the Assembly.

They should work with passion and dedication to bring development to the people in the district, the Minister said.

The Assembly also elected Mr Ernest Fosu Boakye, a teacher, as its Presiding Member.
