Inspired by Airtel Ghana’s commitment to invest in sports development in the country and the company’s strategy to invest in events that it’s’ employees and customers can participate in, members of the club trained endlessly to compete in the employee tournament.

Speaking to Airtel’s commitment to empower its employees to be at their best, Tina Muparadzi, Human Resource Director said “At Airtel, we are fully committed to investing to promote the health and wellness of all our employees through the various avenues we provide.

We believe that employees should have a good work life balance which is why we constantly strive to create the opportunities for them to participate in every event we sponsor such as the Golf Open and quite recently the Millennium Marathon”.

She continued “the Airtel Golf Club was formed a year ago and now has over 30 employees who train regularly to participate alongside the most prestigious event in the Ghana golf calendar”. At Airtel, we do more than sponsor. We actively participate in the events we sponsor. We believe in the power of Now and the inherent potential in each and every one of us to achieve and be the best they can be”.

As part of the Golf Open sponsored by Airtel Business, a sub brand of the company, Airtel Premier customers were treated to an exclusive 3-day golf clinic to introduce them to the game of golf and to hone the skills of those who wanted to perfect their game.

Maxwell Dodd, Director of Airtel Business said “We care about our customers and we wanted to give those interested the opportunity to connect, network and exercise whilst enjoying the game of golf. For those who were professional players, they participated in the main event and won laurels. The three day championship was powered by Airtel Business, the business oriented sub brand of Airtel Ghana which is leading the drive in Ghana to provide next generation business communications solutions to enterprises – small, medium and large.
