Airtel Ghana has been named Change Maker Company of the Year for Corporate Social Responsibility. Airtel Ghana received the highest honor (Gold) for its significant and far-reaching efforts to integrate social responsibility across its products, services, operations and its innovative employee CSR initiative ?lovingly referred to as MADD. MADD stands for ?Make A Difference Day?. The award was presented yesterday at Bharti Airtel?s 2014 Change Maker Awards 2014 event in New Delhi.

The Change maker Awards honors companies within the Bharti group that have embedded CSR into its operations and integrated CSR into its business. The Awards are also held to identify and felicitate all those individuals and Bharti Group Companies who were going beyond their business mandate to support the initiatives of Bharti Foundation.

The Change maker Awards encompassed both A Caring Touch (ACT) Ambassador Awards and the Bharti Corporate Responsibility Awards for 2014. The focus areas for these included:

Stakeholder Engagement
Environment Conservation
Social and Community Initiatives
Innovative Use of business Products and Services.

The Awards ceremony tipped the scales in favour of Airtel Ghana in a competitive field brimming with impressive work beating twenty other Airtel International Operating Companies. The Award was presented to Ghana by Founder and Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, Sunil Bharti Mittal.
