The race to win the ultimate cash prize of GHC50,000 is on. The juicy package will go to the group with the highest number of points at the end of the Airtel Friendzy promo, which is scheduled for the first week in March 2012.So far, it has been an exciting journey, which has seen more than eighty groups winning a total amount of GHC260,000 in cash. Eight of these groups, who accumulated the highest points at the end of each week received GHC10,000, while the rest of the groups had GHC2,500 each. Individual players have also won brand new Samsung tablets and Galaxy Smart phones and lots of Airtel airtime over the period.
So far, group Budujay1, winners of the eight draw, have had the highest points accrued since the promo started in December. The group was presented with the GHC10,000 cash prize at the latest award ceremony held at the Legon Pentagon Hostel for the combined 7th and 8th draw.
The Head of Corporate Communications at Airtel Ghana, Donald Gwira, was excited that the promotion was achieving its aim of building friendships and rewarding loyalty of customers. This, he said, was Airtel Ghana’s way of showing appreciation for every amount spent on the network.
‘This is also the opportunity to celebrate great times with friends and win great prizes doing so on the network that cares’, he added.
He encouraged those who were yet to join to do so, and for those already playing to keep their eyes on the ultimate prize of GHC50,000 cash which will be given out to the group with the highest number of points at the end of the promo.
Airtel Friendzy promotion is Airtel Ghana’s National Consumer promotion aimed at giving back to customers by rewarding them for their recharges and usage on their network. It is also to celebrate friendship as participants are encouraged to play with their friends and win prizes that will be shared among participating group of friends.
The mechanics of playing Friendzy is simple. Customers can either form a group by sending “Start-space-Group Name” to 6262 or join a group by sending “Join-space-Group Name” to 6262. Customers who would want to participate should ensure that their group names are alphanumeric, e.g. ‘Azonto11’ to avoid duplicates.
