A statement in Accra by FAAPA said the attack was against freedom of thought, freedom of expression and ultimately against the values of democracy.

?We join other News Agency groups and the international media community to defend the freedom of the Press and the freedom of expression, based on democratic values.
The Atlantic Federation of African Press Agencies (FAAPA) was initiated and formed by the Moroccan News Agency (Agence Presse MAP) in October 2014 to forge unity among News Agencies in the Northern and Western African News Agencies.
The aim was to promote the exchange of experience in all areas of common interest and develop the exchange of information and multi media products among members.
