The letter addressed to the Ministry of Youth and Sports said: “His Excellency the President has requested that you meet with the Federation to receive and consider their concerns.”

He said despite the directive on October 29, 2013 the AFFA received a letter signed by Alice Attipoe, Acting Director General, NSA, which said: “Please be advised that the room you are occupying at the Accra Sports Stadium has been allocated to the Ghana Golf Association for use as a secretariat. You are therefore being asked to vacate the premises before November 15, 2013.”

Mr Sowah said on April 7, 2015, H.M. Wood, Director of Finance and Administration wrote to the Minister of Youth and Sports, on behalf of the Chief of Staff saying: “We are directed to forward to you, for your attention and necessary action the attached letter dated March 30, 2015, with its supporting documents, from the Amputee Football Federation of Africa, in respect of the above-mentioned subject and addressed to His Excellency the President.”

He said despite this intervention the office of the AFFA has been barricaded in response to a letter the Federation received from the NSA on October 26, 2015.

The letter signed by Mr Joe Kpenge, Director General of NSA said; “I regret to inform you that the honourable Minister for Youth and Sports has directed that all users of the corporate boxes should vacate the facility by December 31, 2015.

“This is to enable us to embark on renovation of the facilities and thereafter revert them to the purposes for which they were designed. We do hope you will comply with this directive.”

Mr Sowah said the office was made possible through a letter the AFFA wrote to the late President John Evans Atta Mills.

He said the former Secretary to the late President Mr J.K. Bebaako-Mensah wrote to the then Minister of Youth and Sports, which said: “ I forward herewith, for your attention, copy of a self-explanatory letter dated March 21, 2012 on….subject received from the Amputee Football Federation of Africa.

“Kindly arrange to meet the Executives of the Federation on behalf of His Excellency the President and take the necessary consequential action on the matter.

He said the AFFA would demonstrate in protest against the barricading of its office and also seek legal redress.
