The Eastern Regional Police Command is yet to identify the nine persons who lost their lives in the accident on the Adukrom road.

The fatal accident which occurred near Adukrom on the Koforidua-Akuapem road on Thursday claimed nine lives including a driver of an Urvan bus leaving several others severely injured.

The accident was caused by collision between a Metro Mass Transit bus and an Urvan commercial bus at Srokpo junction near Adukrom.

The Eastern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Gyamerah Yeboah in an interview with Citi News said two out of the six on admission at the hospital have been discharged.

?As at this morning, none of them had been identified but so far, we still have the nine who are dead including two children. We have five males and four women including the children. Then those on admission are six and they are all responding to treatment and two have already been discharged,? he explained.

DCOP Yeboah also mentioned that his outfit has made various announcements for relatives of the deceased to come for identification and ?we are also talking to other passengers who were at the station where they boarded the vehicles. The vehicle was from Koforidua to Hohoe so we have gone to Hohoe and Koforidua stations to talk about the incident so we are still waiting.??
