A flagbearer aspirant of the Convention Peoples Party has sworn to return the party to power and to finish Dr. Kwame Nkrumah?s unfinished business.
Abu Sakara made the pledge when he submitted his forms to the party?s General Secretary Ivor Greenstreet on Tuesday.
Joy News correspondent Micheala Anderson reported the flagbearer aspirant as saying he and his generation of the CPP will bring fundamental change to the governance institution in the country.
In an interesting twist, one of the aspirants Dr Bentil Enchill stepped down and announced his endorsement for the candidature of Dr Sakara.
Enchill is hopeful, together with Sakara they will turn the fortunes of the CPP around.
Dr. Sakara who was vice-presidential candidate for the party in the 2008 election is expected to face stiff competition from Lawyer Bright Akwete, and former presidential aspirant George Opesika Aggudey.
The party is expected to go to Congress next month to elect a new flagbearer for the party.
