The Supreme Court today dealt a heavy blow to PNC Youth Organiser, Abu Ramadan, by throwing out his application for a review of an earlier ruling by the Court given in favour of PNC General Secretary, Bernard Mornah.

By a majority 9-0 decision, the judges ruled that Abu Ramadan had no capacity to file a review because he was not a party to the original case. The judges set October to give a comprehensive reason for the verdict given.

A couple of months ago, the Supreme Court ruled in favour of PNC General Secretary, Bernard Mornah when he prayed the Court to quash CI 74 (71) which made it impossible for a review of an election petition at the Supreme Court. The law also allowed judges hearing an Election Petition case to sit on holidays, a position he described as illegal.

The court upheld the arguments of Mornah and ruled in his favor.

Ramadan who isn?t content with the decision of the court, therefore filed an application at the Supreme Court to review the decision. The Judges however threw out the application by ruling that he had no locus to file for review on the matter.

His Lawyer, Atta Akyea in an interview with Citi News, however described the Judges decision as very unfortunate and a miscarriage of justice.

He opined that the same law that empowered Mornah as a citizen to go to court to reverse portions of the law also allows Ramadan to proceed to court to seek same.
