Absa Bank Ghana has reinforced its commitment to young entrepreneurs with the Future Fuelled Youth Festival at Accra’s British Council.
The event, attended by Absa Group’s Chief Marketing Officer Sydney Mbhele, focused on fostering innovation, financial literacy, and sustainable business development among Ghana’s next-generation leaders.
Mbhele emphasized Absa’s people-centric approach: “We invest in people. In every entrepreneur, we see an agent of change shaping Africa’s future.” Nana Essilfuah Tamakloe, Absa Ghana’s Marketing Director, added that support extends “beyond finance to capacity building and advisory services.” The festival featured startup showcases and a panel moderated by Berla Mundi, where experts advised validating local market needs before scaling.
A highlight emerged from entrepreneur Elselund Ewudzie-Sampson, whose grocery venture Big Samps Market transformed after receiving Absa’s GH¢200,000 grant. “It enabled rebranding, hiring, and restructuring for growth,” she stated. The initiative aligns with Absa’s broader youth empowerment agenda, creating networking channels between founders, investors, and industry mentors to drive self-employment.
