President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan being received on arrival by Abia state Governor, Theodore Orji for the PDP 2015 Presidential Rally in Umuahia

President Goodluck Jonathan says his administration has intervened in a lot of areas to boost the economy of Abia state.

Jonathan who was speaking at a PDP campaign rally in Umuahia, Abia state said he has continued to create the conducive environment for Nigerians to succeed in their businesses.

He listed the projects which his administration has done in the state to include the rehabilitation of the NNPC Depot at Osisioma Ngwa, the ongoing rehabilitation works at the Enugu ?Port Harcourt Expressway, restoration of security as well as the flag off of the Eastern railway line which passes through Abia, among others.

He called on the people of Abia state to vote him and other PDP candidates in the 2015 general elections stressing that the party remains the best for Nigerians.

Jonathan who thanked the capacity crowd for their endurance and support promised to empower more youths and women to contribute to the development of the nation.

According to him, ?We will continue to encourage more women and youths, even to the international level. My administration has empowered more women and youths than any other. We will continue to appreciate what Nigerian youths are doing. We will do more for Nigerian youths and women. We must make you proud of your country.?

In his speech, National Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Adamu Muazu who commended Abia people for their support to the party, appealed to Gov. Theodore Orji and party faithful in state to work with the former governor of the state, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu as he is already working with the President and national leadership of the party.

While expressing gratitude to the President for his interventions in Abia state, Gov. Orji said Jonathan does not need to campaign in the state as every Abian is his campaign manager and assured that PDP would win landslide in the state.

Earlier, speaking for the three senatorial zones of Abia state; Chiefs Onyema Ugochukwu (Abia Central), Adolphus Wabara (Abia South) and Ojo Maduekwe (Abia North) assured the president of the total support of Abia people, insisting that he doesn?t need to campaign in Abia as the state stands solidly behind him.

In the PDP campaign train were the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan; Vice President, Namadi Sambo and his wife; the Chairman, national campaign council, Dr, Ahmadu Ali; Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala; members of the PDP BOT and national working committee.
