FIVE Persons were nearly killed in an accident when a Toyota Corolla saloon car run into a DaF truck fully loaded with cement at the Dzowulu junction traffic light, accra, close to the Fiesta royale hotel.

The accident, according to eyewitness account, occurred around 2: 00 am Friday dawn.

Three occupants of the saloon car, were severely injured while two others occupying the DAF truck, sustained minor injuries.

The eyewitness said the truck dragged the saloon car into a ditch outside the road and stood on it.

On reaching the Dzorwulu traffic light near Fiesta Royale Hotel, according to the eyewitness, the lights had turned amber and so both drivers decided to move on at the same time.

In the process, the truck collided with the saloon car and dragged it to a distance of about hundred meters.

With the help of other drivers, two of the occupants of the saloon car were immediately rescued and sent to the 37 Military Hospital.

However, one of the occupants got trapped in the front seat; and it took close to four hours for him to be rescued by the police.

All the five victims ? including two occupants of the truck ? were at the 37 Hospital receiving treatment.
