The pacu, nicknamed the “ball cutter”, has been discovered in the sea between Denmark and Sweden which has encouraged skinny dippers to put their swimming shorts back on due to the animal’s penchant for a person’s manhood.

A spokesman for the National History Museum in Denmark warned: “Keep your swimwear on if you’re bathing in the Sound these days – maybe there are more out there!”

An eight-inch pacau, which is a relative of the piranha, was found in the Scandinavian waters by a fisherman who caught it.

The fish breed can weigh up to 55lb and grow up to 35ins.
