They were returning home from Tikobo Number One on the last day of a three day training on the on-going exhibition of the voters register when their car run into ditch on the main Takoradi /Half-Assini road, about 1800 hours.

Jomoro District Police Commander, Superintendent John Furguson Dzineku, made this known to the GNA at Half-Assini on Wednesday.


He said the injured were Halifax Anyimah, Ussiah Anyimah, both children of deceased, Abraham Nwea Kwame, Dickson Boadi and Vivian Nwimozu.

Superintendent Dzineku said the deceased’s children and Nwimozu have since been discharged from Half-Assini Government Hospital where they were rushed for treatment.

He said Nwea Kwame and Boadi were referred from Half-Assini to Eikwe Mission Hospital in Ellembelle District where they are responding to treatment.

Superintendent Dzineku said a mid-wifely student from nearby Bonyere whose name was only given as Florence, who was on board the vehicle, is also responding to treatment at the Eikwe Hospital.

He said the cause of the accident is not yet known, investigation however continues.

Meanwhile, the exhibition is going on smoothly at Ezinlibo despite the involvement of the Electoral officers from the town’s accident.

According to Ms Juana Yankey, acting Returning Officer of the town, a total of thirty (30) voters have checked their names since the exercise started on Monday.

She told GNA that ten people checked their names on the first day (Monday), twelve on Tuesday and eight as at 1345 hours on Wednesday.
