Lioness of Africa and Ghanaian Afro-pop singer-songwriter Noela Wiyaala took the walk way of Accra Fashion Week 2019 by storm as audience went gay in excitement amidst thunderous applause.

The three-day event which took place at the Silver Star Towers in Accra saw performances of models, fashion designers and make-up artists from across the country, Africa and Europe all in high level exhibition and showcase of their skill and talents.

According to Wiyaala, she has always stood to portray African values and though it took a while to get a fitting make-up suiting for the occasion she was happy the wait was worthwhile.

She expressed appreciation to Phase2face Beauty Clinic and College for the wonderful work done on her revealing in her the sense of being a proud African using cultural art and music. She wowed all in attendance singing her hit song “Tinambanyi” amidst some strokes of modelling steps on the green turf walk way.

African Fashion Week has become a household fashion escape that supports the Ghanaian and African originality being reflected in cultural fashion, art and designers not forgetting the scintillating display of talents from across the African continent including those in the diaspora by way of models, designers, make-up artistry and musicians.

Having being in rise for only 2 years, possibly one of the youngest fashion shows on the continent, the Accra Fashion Week has been the only show to host over 150 designers. It is also known to have hosted the largest number of nations compared to all and the largest number of nations compared to any event that has taken place in Ghana, with a record of 22 various nationalities.

Accra Fashion Week is intended to feature twice yearly, something only South African fashion weeks have executed, as well as continue to bring on board European buyers to participate in the purchasing of our local brands. Major motive of the fashion weeks has been to discover talents and brands not only in Ghana but in all the participating African countries.
