The sixth Africa Development International Forum (FIAD) has opened in Casablanca, Morocco under the theme “When East meets the West”.

Sierra Leonean President Julius Maada Bio is among the high profile people participating in the two-day meeting.

It provides a platform to discuss ways of speeding up regional economic integration, the place and role of women’s entrepreneurship in the region and the contribution of young African start-ups to Africa’s growth through digital investment.

Additionally, it is focusing the spotlight on the development of plans and flagship investment projects in eight countries – Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Morocco and Rwanda.

“Since its creation in 2010, FIAD has been working tirelessly to offer African economic operators exchange platforms and to implement projects that create wealth for all,” said Attijariwafa Bank Group’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Mohamed El-Kettani.

The FIAD 2019 is celebrating Sierra Leone and providing a platform for dialogue, investment promotion and intra-African trade.

It has targeted to bring together and connect more than 1,500 economic operators.
