Lions at Nairobi Park

Six lions escaped from Namibia’s largest game park, the Etosha National Park, Saturday night, and ate a donkey and cattle in a village nearby, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism said on Sunday.

Efforts are being made to recapture the lions and send them back to the park, said Romeo Muyunda, spokesperson of the ministry.


“Human-wildlife conflict has become a huge challenge in recent years and more so because of the prevailing drought,” he said.

Last Tuesday, farmers shot dead two lions that ate cattle of a farm south of Gobatere. Enditem
