Indonesian authorities will soon move two Australians on death row for drug trafficking from a prison on Bali island for execution, news reports said Thursday.Execution

Bali’s chief prosecutor Momock Bambang Samiarso said he had received a letter from the Justice Ministry authorizing the transfer of Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, Kompas.com news website reported.

“We’ll just need to carry it out, as soon as possible,” he was quoted as saying.

He did not say when or where the two would be executed.

The Foreign Ministry said last week it had received notification from Bali’s prosecutor’s office that Chan, 31, and Sukumaran, 33, were due for execution this month.

The Australian government has appealed to Indonesia to spare Chan and Sukumaran, saying their executions would be “a grave injustice.”

Indonesian President Widodo Joko has ruled out mercy for drug traffickers.
