At least 1,500 Africans are expected to attend the 30th edition of China International Beauty Expo (CIBE) scheduled for March 10-12 in Guangzhou, China, a Chinese official said on Sunday.

The CIBE, inaugurated in 1989, features professional beauty care products and services. This year it will have a special section dedicated to African fashion and beauty products, CIBE assistant CEO Zhang Haifan told Xinhua through email.

“There will be various activities during the show, with fashion designs from Ethiopia, South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania and the African diaspora to be showcased,” he said.

Zhang was in Ethiopia in February to promote the CIBE.

There are plans to organize beauty exhibition tours in several African countries, he said.

“CIBE plans to help Chinese firms move part of their production line to African countries, producing high quality beauty products custom-made for the African market,” Zhang said. Enditem
