More than 100 coaches and teachers were certified as trainers, and were presented with certificates and other souvenirs by the organization after passing through a series of training programmes.

They demonstrated leadership qualities among others in the RTP programme modules, implementing activities with children and having been observed and supported by RTP staff, thereby qualifying to become official coaches of their community programmes in Ghana.

The coaches and trainers came from the Greater Accra and Volta regions, and were asked to give off what they have been trained for by empowering the children they work with.

Massamba Gningue, Regional Director, RTP West and Francophone Africa (WAFA), said the organization is happy with the work the coaches and teachers are doing as they seek to bring out positive lifestyles in them through the use of sport and play activities.

This he added, is the surest way to give children hope for the future, and it is they that those they work with, will look up to in this direction.

Country Manager of RTP Ghana, Ethel Sackitey, thanked them for the work they have done over the years, and added that, her outfit would at all times reward them for their hard work.

Right to Play is a global organization that uses the transformative power of play and sport to educate and empower children facing adversity and has since 2001, been implementing these programmes in more than 250 schools and communities in Ghana.

It teaches important life lessons and develops skills like co-operation, leadership and teamwork targeting children and youth.

Its programmes are facilitated by volunteer coaches and teachers who are trained in specially designed programming with these programmes implemented based on the needs of the communities they work in.
